Vanilla Pudding French Toast
Ingredients:
2 cups milk
1 box (3.4 ounces) cook-and-serve vanilla pudding mix
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
8 slices Texas toast or white bread (thicker cut)
3 tablespoons butter, divided
Powdered sugar
Fresh berries (optional)
Warm maple syrup
Directions:
In a large bowl, whisk the milk, dry pudding mix, eggs and cinnamon together until well blended. Dip bread in pudding mixture, coating both sides. In a large skillet or on a griddle, melt a little butter over medium heat. Cook bread on both sides until golden brown. Before serving sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with a little extra butter, syrup and/or fresh berries on top.

This french toast is amazing. It will be my new go to french toast recipe. I added 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Everyone loved it. The next time I made it I used butterscotch pudding. It was good as well. My husband liked it either way but preferred the vanilla. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
This French toast is amazing! I changed the amount of cinnamon to 1 teaspoon & added 1 teaspoon of vanilla. When I make it again I’m going to add some almond extract. I usually add almond extract in my recipe. I highly recommend trying this recipe. I didn’t think about using pudding in my French toast. It took a few minutes to figure out why I couldn’t use instant pudding (which I already had in hand.)

I had a recipe like this but it was baked in the oven. Can I do this, bake in oven?

Yes Katie. Sugar free pudding mix I think would work, just make sure it’s cook and serve and not the instant. Texas toast should be found in most grocery stores in the bread aisle. It’s just a thicker cut of white soft sandwich bread so if you can find it regular bread works too. Thanks! -Amy
