Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup or more of sugar
1 bag (12 ounces) fresh cranberries
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 teaspoons fresh orange zest (optional)
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar and cranberries. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes until the skins pop, stirring occasionally. Taste to see if it’s sweet enough for you, If not add a little more sugar and water if needed and cook a minute or two longer. Stir in orange juice and cook a minute or so. Remove from the heat and stir in orange zest. Serve warm or chilled.
Notes:
Great served with roast chicken, turkey or pork. Also delicious used to make my quick Cranberry Crostini appetizers!
