Amy, have you tried this in an instant pot?
I think it might work well!
I too notice that your original recipe left out what to do with the sliced apples! I see you have corrected it.
I am making my pulled pork today. Haven’t tried this recipe before as I have made many versions of pulled pork. looking forward to it.
Does the alcohol burn off, so it is ok for kids? If I have one who doesn’t like bbq flavor, does it taste good without adding that? Do your cookbooks have additional recipes not online? I love your recipes!
What kind of bourbon did you use?
What kind of bourbon do you use? Can’t wait to try this! Love your newsletters!
Hi Vicki. Any type should work. I usually use Jim Beam or a Kentucky Bourbon. Hope that helps! Thanks! -Amy
Made this recipe for Superbowl Party 2/2/14 and it was a total hit. Everyone wanted the recipe so of course, I directed them to your website. The apples were a perfect touch of flavor. I found many more recipes on your website that I plan to use. Thanks!!
Hi Brianna! Thanks for catching that! The apples go right in the slow cooker with the roast and cook all day. The apples on the sandwiches were just for a pretty picture. Hope your family loves this! Mine does! -Amy
And the apples would go…where? Cook with the roast or a topping? It looks like a topping but the ones in the picture aren’t peeled as indicated in recipe.
