Cinnamon Roll and Sausage Butterflies

  • 8 package fully cooked sausage links
  • 1 package (12.4 ounces) Pillsbury cinnamon rolls
  • Colored sugar or sprinkles (optional)


  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Cut cinnamon roll dough in half.
  • Place rounded sides together in pairs on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Pinch rounded sides together.
  • Bake 5 minutes.
  • Place a sausage link in the center of each pair of cinnamon halves.
  • Bake another 5 to 8 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool a bit.
  • Use a knife to spread on frosting.
  • You can also spoon frosting into a resealable plastic bag.
  • Cut a corner off.
  • Pipe on each cinnamon roll.
  • Decorate with colored sugar or sprinkles, if desired.
