Hot Caramel Apple Cider

1 gallon apple cider
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon orange zest
3 cinnamon sticks
Whipped cream (optional)
Caramel ice cream topping (optional)

In a large pot bring first 5 ingredients to a boil. Let simmer a few minutes. Ladle into mugs. Top with whipped cream and drizzle caramel on top if you like.
