4 slices white bread
6 slices American cheese
A few tablespoons softened butter
Place three slices of cheese between two slices of bread to make 2 sandwiches. Spread outsides of sandwiches with butter. Heat non-stick skillet. Cook sandwiches over medium heat about 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown on both sides. Place a cover over or oven-proof plate over skillet to make sure the cheese gets melted. Makes two sandwiches.
Great served with my Quick Cream of Tomato Soup for dunking! You can also cut the crusts off and cut the sandwich into bite sized pieces and make grilled cheese croutons to float in the soup.
