Beer Dip Burger, Anyone?

I’ll go anywhere for a good burger. Trust me, I will! The place doesn’t have to be fancy! In fact some of the best burgers I’ve had have come from those little mom and pop places or Wisconsin taverns. I recently had the chance to do some cooking with the executive chef over a Lambeau Field. Chef Leo Dominquez and I first met several years ago when he moved to Green Bay to take over the job of handling all the food that comes out of the stadium kitchens. That’s a lot of food! I’ve gotten a peek inside the stadium refrigerators. Let’s just say lots of cheese, butter, and brats!

Chef Leo introduced me to one of the burgers they serve over at Curly’s Pub inside Lambeau Field. It’s called a Beer Cheese Bacon Burger. WOW! It’s a grilled burger topped with thick slices of bacon and a dollop of beer cheese dip, all served on a pretzel roll. If you can’t get to Curly’s these would be easy to make at home! Here’s my Beer Dip recipe. Why not try few spoonfuls on your next burger! Perfect for your game day party too! By the way, got any good burger places I need to try?

  1. We just tried Serious Burger in front of the Fox River Mall in Appleton. All local products and the freshest of fresh food! I would err on the side of caution when ordering the wellness of your burger – that was my only disappointment. They have speciality burgers as well as build your own so you can’t go wrong. Their fries were delicious as well. AND! Kids eat free!

  2. Archie’s Pub in DePere has great burgers !

The burgers at Heffers Saloon, county rd. S in Sobieski, are to die for. My personal favorite is the Royale with cheese. MMM MMM MMM
