Spice Up the Holidays with Bacon Wrapped Green Beans!

Spice Up the Holidays with Bacon Wrapped Green Beans!

I know the holidays are going look a lot different this year. Many of us will have just a few around the table, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still be really delicious! My plan is to make the holiday dinners extra special and filled with memories. Besides the main course one of my favorite parts of a holiday dinner is all those side dishes. It’s always fun to try something new! I’m not saying you should skip the family’s favorites but I love to really WOW everybody and make one or two new sides. This year why not spice up the holidays with my Bacon Wrapped Green Beans? They go great with turkey, prime rib, pork roasts, chicken and even seafood. They will make you look like a total rock star! Love that! Nobody but us needs to know how super easy breezy they are to make.

Ingredients for Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

Okay, let’s get cooking! Let’s start with the green beans. You’ll need one pound of fresh or frozen. If you are using fresh green beans make sure to trim the ends and wash and dry them well. If using frozen beans make sure they are whole and not cut green beans. Let them thaw and pat them dry. You can even use canned whole green beans. Just drain them and pat dry.

Place bacon slices on a cutting board. Cut the bacon strips in half. Sprinkle each piece of with a little brown sugar. Press the brown sugar into the bacon a bit.

Next, sprinkle each piece with a little Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning.

That’s my secret ingredient. It’s full of flavor, but don’t worry because it’s not too spicy! I’m teaming up with Tony Chachere’s to help get the word out about how Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning needs to be a pantry staple in your kitchen. It’s my go-to when I need to kick up the flavor in a lot of my recipes. For example, it’s delicious sprinkled generously on my holiday turkey. It makes the skin absolutely gorgeous! Gives the turkey great flavor too!

Okay back to the beans. Bundle 5 to 6 green beans together. Wrap a half piece of bacon, seasoned side on top, around each set of green beans. Keep bundling and place all the bundles in a large baking dish. Now, here’s the good news. You don’t have to do this right before dinner. Up to this point, it can be done ahead. For the holidays I like to get as much done ahead as possible. Just cover the baking dish with the bundles well and park it in the fridge. This can be done a day or even two ahead. Now when you are ready to bake, it’s really important to preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Before baking drizzle 1 cup of Tony Chachere’s Creole Style French Salad Dressing evenly over the bundles.

Bake uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes until the bacon gets a little crispy. They look so pretty on a buffet or on the side of whatever you are serving! Wait ’til you taste them. I guarantee they will be a huge hit! Wishing you Happy Holidays!
