My Shining Star

Ireland in School Play

I think she danced before she walked. She’s always loved to sing too. My 16-year-old daughter Ireland is one of those kids who never gets stage fright. In fact it’s just the opposite.

I think she’s the happiest when she’s on stage performing. She’s been in several school plays and in the summer she attends an amazing performing arts camp in New York. But this week was a first! She had her first leading role! She was in her high school play, “Ashland Falls.” To say I was nervous wreck would be putting it lightly. LOL! She had 5 performances. Those were some late nights and long days!

Well, let’s just say she and the rest of the cast really did “Break a Leg!” The show, which is a murder mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat was FANTASTIC! They got a standing ovation. Actually several of them! Plus, great reviews! All of her friends came to watch and show their support. There were lots of proud mom, dad, and brother moments! (See proud Dad and Ireland in photo below.) Congrats to all the cast and crew! Ireland will once again be headed to French Woods in New York this summer to pursue her love of acting. Never easy to have her away from home but I guess you gotta let those birds fly!
