Hi Jeff. Gosh, I’m sorry to hear that. My family loves this! Yes, you can cut back on the milk if you don’t want it real saucy. The fries aren’t going to get really crispy in this casserole. If you want them a little more crisp, try baking the casserole without the fries but covered with foil. Then spread fries on a baking sheet. Bake them separately until crispy. Then just spread them on top of casserole before serving. Thanks! -Amy

  2. I made this recipe and it was a disaster. Very watery, soggy fries, had to throw it away. Is 1 1/2 cups of milk right? What did I do wrong?

Made this last month and my husband just requested it again. Sometimes I tweak recipes, but for this one I followed the exact recipe and it not only tastes good, but looks so pretty when I put it on the table.

  4. This was ssssoooo easy! My family was a little nervous about the pickles, we love them but on top??? It all worked out great. Can’t wait to do this again. I did use seasoned fries instead of plain and sprinkling season salt on them, works the same. Thanks much

  5. I used turkey, instead, and the grandc hildren did not even realize it. They lived it. They called and stated they want it next time they stay over. Thanks Amy
