Chai Latte Mix

Chai LatteIngredients:
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
2 cups powdered non-dairy creamer
1 package (3.5 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups unsweetened plain instant tea
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a very large bowl. Blend this mixture, one cup at a time in a blender or food processor until it’s a fine powder. Stir 2 rounded tablespoons of mix into a mug of very hot water. Makes about 40 servings.

Notes:
I admit it! I love going out for coffee or Chai, but it can really add up! Thanks again Jenn for this homemade Chai mix recipe. Makes a great gift too!

Hi Jennifer. I would just leave out the dry milk powder when making the dry mix and thene when it comes to making a cup of the hot chai instead of using hot water use hot soy or almond milk. I think it would be great! -Amy

I Love Love this recipe. The tea is so tasty and I have saved lots of money by making this instead of stopping at a coffee shop. I have tried also using sugar free pudding and Splenda to make it sugar free and less calories and it is still nummy. Thanks for a great recipe!

    Hi Amy,

I made this and followed the recipe completly. Mine doesn’t look white and frothy like your picture and I think it tastes a bit weak. What would you suggest to add more of? Maybe another box of pudding? Why does yours look frothy and white? Maybe you put whipped cream on the top?

How many gift bags can you make from one batch?

Hi Lisa! I’d say you can get 3 to 4 bags. Just depends on how big the bags are. Chinese take-out containers or canning jars work great too for packaging these!

    Hi Cooking Mom:
I just mixed up the Chai Latte ingre. in blender. Am now drinking and it’s a bit chewey. I used Lipton regular tea bags. I cut a bunch of little bags open to make 1 1/2 cups. Are the “cut open tea bags” the same as “instant tea”? I blended everything together. The tea seems to be floating to the top and I can feel the “pieces” of tea. Just checking.

Hi Joan. Tea from tea bags won’t dissolve right. You need to use **instant** unsweetened tea. It’s near the ice tea mixes but make sure to get unsweetened. Hope that helps!
