Salted Caramel Mocha is Back!
Whoever came up with the whole salty-sweet thing is my hero! To me, it’s that little bit of salt in homemade chocolate chip cookies that makes all the difference! These days “salted caramel” anything is all the rage! However, my daughter just informed me that me saying “all the rage” isn’t too hip these days! I don’t think the word “hip” is either! Oh well, I’ll never be trendy but, I do know what I like! I’m absolutely in love with the salted caramel mocha at Starbucks.
When they introduced it last fall, I just had to try it. Can you say amazing! It was just a tad sweet for me so now when I order it, I make a couple adjustments. I always get a Venti, which in Starbucks language is the largest you can get. I figure it just a few cents more than the Grande (the medium), so I might as well go for it. Especially at 5 bucks or more a cup! I know, crazy! But, this cup of coffee is crazy good! Trust me on this one!
So, back to coffee. For a Venti, it’s 2 shots of espresso, steamed milk, and I ask for just 2 pumps of mocha and just two pumps of the toffee nut flavoring. I think they usually put 4 or 5 pumps of each syrup in so, if you like it sweet then just keep it as is. They top it all off with their amazing whipped cream! I love that fact that it’s the real deal and not from a can! Then, caramel drizzle! Finally the best part! A mixture of raw sugar and sea salt sprinkled over the top. WOW! The combination just rocks! If I have the time I love to get it in a “real” ceramic mug. Yes they have them, just ask. Instead of taking it to go, I savor every sip while I work on my laptop or read a good book on a comfy chair inside. I know! Heavenly!
Anyway, I was totally bummed when after the holidays last winter, my favorite Starbucks creation ever disappeared. Poof! It was gone and off then menu. Well, guess what! It’s back! They just put it on the menu again for fall. I’m hoping this time it will stay for good. We’ll see! Have you had one? If not you need to! Let me know what you think!
