1 box (18.3 ounces) brownie mix
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 container (8 ounces) Cool Whip, thawed
1 can cherry pie filling
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 x 13 inch pan with a large piece of foil so that it overlaps the sides. Spray foil with cooking spray. In a large bowl mix together brownie mix, eggs, oil, and water. Spoon batter into the pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool completely. For the frosting, use a mixer to beat together softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Spoon in Cool Whip and blend until creamy. Spread frosting on top of the brownies. Carefully spread cherry pie filling on top of the frosting. Before serving, use foil to lift from pan and cut into squares.
