Amy & Hoyt Got Married!
It’s our first anniversary! Hoyt and I got married a year ago! It seems like just yesterday!
It was a day filled with so much love! It was everything we’d dreamed of and more!
Our wedding was in gorgeous Hanalei Bay, Hawaii. It was a small, intimate wedding on the north shore of the island of Kauai.
We were surrounded by our families, our five grown children and some of our closest friends. (Left to right Spencer, Ireland, Hoyt, me, Riley, Amelia and Pierce)
My two kiddos Ireland and Riley walked me down the aisle. It was so incredibly special!
When I woke up on the morning of our wedding day, it was raining like crazy. I know rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck, but I was really hoping for a sunny beautiful day.
We got it! The rain went away and the day turned out to be perfect!
Because our wedding was in Hawaii I wanted to keep it very Hawaiian! From the food at our reception to the flowers and even the cake!
It was important to me to have flowers grown in Hawaii. We even all made our own leis! Every guest got a homemade lei! A lei making expert from the island bright us tropical l flowers and helped us make them before the rehearsal dinner the night before. It was so fun!
We had a very traditional Hawaiian wedding. It was magical! It started out with the blowing on the conch shell. This is believed to bring positive energy and mark the start of a special ceremony.
I walked down the aisle to the song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” played on the ukulele. It was so incredibly beautiful!
The ceremony was filled with Hawaiian traditions. We cleansed our hands to wash away any negativity.
We drank from a coconut to represent new beginnings and blending our families.
Our wedding cake turned out so cute! I worked with the best pastry chef on the island. He took my ideas and vision and captured it perfectly!
The baby pineapple was from a local farmers market. One layer of the cake was coconut cream! It’s Hoyt’s favorite. Then there was a chocolate layer for my mom and family who are chocolate lovers like me. It was the best cake I’ve ever eaten!
After the wedding it was picture time.

I’m excited to share some of my favorites pictures from this magical day! I’m so blessed to have gotten a 2nd chance. I’ve found true love and a partner who I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with!
