Lemon Basil Pesto Sauce

2 to 3 garlic cloves
¼ cup toasted pine nut or walnuts
2 cups fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup Italian parsley leaves
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2/3 to 1 1/4 cups olive oil

In a food processor, combine the garlic, nuts, basil, parsley, cheese, lemon zest and lemon juice. Pulse until ground to a fine paste, about 1 minute. With the machine running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the desired consistency is reached. Season with salt and pepper. Toss some of the sauce with hot cooked pasta. I also like to serve this as a dipping sauce with my fresh Tomato, Basil, and Mozzarella Kabobs.
