In August 2022, my dream came true. It was everything I had imagined and more. On the first night of our cruise, my husband Hoyt proposed to me!

I just knew I had to plan a Cooking Mom Vacation and bring a groups on this AMAZING trip!

A river cruise really is an amazing way to see Europe! Every day you get to see so much gorgeous scenery as you cruise the river. During the day, you can hang out on the boat and relax, or you can get off to go on fun free excursions exploring different cities.

There are lots of different river cruise lines. Uniworld is TOP OF THE LINE! Their ships are stunning, the cabins are bigger and gorgeous. The crew on the ship are also the best! Then. there’s the food! For food and wine lovers you’re in for a treat! It’s food is gourmet all the way! The wine is also incredible!

This is the beautiful bar where we meet every night before dinner to hear live music. It’s so beautiful! Again, all your drinks are included!

After dinner the, it’s time for more music and even dancing! Uniworld brings wonderful local musicians on board nightly! It’s fantastic!

The meals on the ship and the wine are over the top. The chefs are amazing! They even hold cooking demos. On our last cruise we learned to make delicious apple streusel!

This is not your typical big cruise ship. There are only 150 passengers on board. It’s such an intimate wonderful experience. The staff will pamper you and take care of your every need. They know your name and your favorite cocktail in no time!They do many special things to pamper us and make us feel special from gorgeous cheese and fruit plates to desserts to die for, like this cake that mapped our river cruise route.

Our route on the Danube River is THE BEST! The breathtaking scenery from Passau, Germany to Budapest, Hungary is something you’ll never forget.

We’ll spend a week cruising the Danube. We’ll make stops along the way in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary. The itinerary is amazing!

For “Sound of Music” movie lovers, you won’t want to miss one of our Uniworld special excursions! It’s a Sound of Music tour! We’ll spend a day in Austria seeing the locations where a lot of the movie was filmed and learning all about the real Von Trapp family! We’ll visit the beautiful church where they got married. These are the trees the kids hung from in the movie!

For wine lovers, you’ll have the chance to visit a small family winery in Austria that produces some of the best Riesling wine in the world.

One of the many highlights of our trip is a private concert and opera JUST FOR US in Vienna! It’s incredible!

I’m so excited to be going back to beautiful Budapest. At night, the palaces and the city are all lit up. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen!

And the food! Bring on the beautiful braided Hungarian sausage ! It’s so good!

We’ll shop for Hungarian paprika and spices at the huge public food market in Budapest!

Another thing that makes my trip the best is before we board our river cruise we’ll fly in early and spend two super fun days in Munich, Germany. It’s one of my favorite cities in the world. We’ll stay 2 nights in a beautiful charming hotel in a great location right in the Marienplatz, which is in the city centre near all best spots.

We’ll wake up to a big beautiful breakfasts with coffee, Bavarian breads and jams, fresh fruit, eggs, and more! They even serve mimosas. Our hotel is fabulous!

Our first day in Europe is going to be so much fun! We’ll see the Marienplatz and the Munich market and we’ll enjoy a huge delicious Bavarian welcome meal with German beer and wine!

On Saturday, we’ll be able to explore Munich some more. I’ve hired an amazing guide to show all all around!

Plus we’ll enjoy beer and giant pretzels at the Hofbrauhaus, the most famous beer hall in the world!

We’ll listen to the German and may even have a dance or two!

On Sunday after breakfast, we’ll board our private included group transfer and depart for Passau, Germany, about 90 miles away, to board our gorgeous ship. Let the magic continue for our amazing cruise on the Danube!
