Portugal is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe! It’s filled with spectacular scenery, so much history and culture, and the most delicious food and wine!

My trips are SO SPECIAL and SO DIFFERENT from the rest! On this trip I worked with the VERY BEST. I’ve teamed up with Abercrombie and Kent. You may have heard of them. Together we’ve chosen the most beautiful hotels and planned every detail to make this trip over the top!

We’ll stay in gorgeous hand-picked hotels in the best locations. We’ll visit amazing wineries and vineyards, and we’ll enjoy THE BEST food and wine!

This is a culinary trip and I’m a cookbook author. My trips are all about finding the most authentic and delicious food and restaurants. We’ll go on a guided walking food tour. We’ll go to local markets. We’ll enjoy lots of local wine and port wine tastings. We’ll even roll up our sleeves and take the very best cooking class! We’ll learn how to make authentic Portuguese dishes and then sit down to enjoy a delicious dinner that we helped make!

On this trip we’ll also get out on the water. When I plan trips if I can get out on the water, we’re doing it! On this trip we’ll take two different boat rides on the gorgeous Douro River.

In fact we’ll spend one full day in the incredible Douro Valley. We’ll be picked up after breakfast for an entire day in this spectacular area outside of Porto. We’ll start with a beautiful scenic drive. Then we’ll get out on the water for a 2 hour private boat ride and tour. We’ll see breathtaking hilltop vineyards as we sip wine and enjoy appetizers.

We’ll then visit two different wineries and taste several different wines. We’ll also enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the wineries. It’s going to be an amazing day!

We’ll start our trip in Porto. I always think it’s a good idea to fly in a couple days early if you can. It’s a long international flight and it’s so nice to be able to get a good night’s sleep and recover and get your groove back.

I always offer a pre-trip add on. I highly recommend it and most of my travelers do it. Why not see and do a little bit more!

Flying in a couple days early is also a great way to get to know our fellow travelers! If you do the pre-trip add on you’ll fly out of the U.S. on September 24, arriving in Porto September 25. Then you’ll check in and spend the nights of September 25 and 26 at our beautiful 5 star luxury hotel that is filled with loads of history and charm.

Our hotel has an elegant bar for cocktails or afternoon tea, a wonderful restaurant, and even a spa! The pre-trip Porto add on includes a two night hotel stay, welcome drinks, and a delicious group welcome dinner! You’ll also have the option to join me for a very special progressive dinner tour of Porto with local wines and an amazing port wine tasting!

The main trip to Portugal starts Sunday, September 27. If you decide not to do the pre-trip add on you’ll fly out September 26 arriving in Porto September 27. You’ll check into our 5 star luxury hotel.

We’ll then have a guided afternoon history and walking tour to get a real feel for Porto. We’ll learn so much about this incredible city!

After our tour we’ll enjoy cocktails. Then, we’ll enjoy a several course dinner at one of the best restaurants!

Breakfast on this trip is included every morning and the hotel breakfasts are huge and incredible! Some even include champagne and mimosas!

On Monday, September 28th after breakfast we’re going to learn all about the Porto food scene. We’ll go with the best foodies and guides for a really fun food walking tour. We’ll visit the famous Porto market for tasting and shopping.

We’ll learn all about Porto through eating local pastries and lots of other delicious foods and drinking local wine, too!

Later in the day we’ll have an exclusive tour and port wine tasting at one of the best port producers in the world!

After that we’ll get out on the water for a sunset boat ride. We’ll take in Porto’s iconic landmarks and we’ll see the city’s six beautiful bridges.

On Tuesday, September 29th, we’ll head outside Porto and spend the whole day in the stunning Douro Valley visiting wineries, tasting wine and more!

On Wednesday September 30th, it’s time to leave Porto and go to Portugal’s other famous city, Lisbon. We’ll spend four magical nights at a beautiful boutique hotel in Lisbon. On our way to Lisbon we’ll stop to visit two charming towns and enjoy a huge traditional roasted pork lunch.

In Lisbon we’ll go on two different guided walking tours to learn all about this beautiful city and the different neighborhoods.

We’ll stop at a local bakeries to sample local pastries and treats.

You’ll also have some free time to shop and explore Lisbon on your own.

One night we’ll take an amazing private cooking class. We’ll learn to make several authentic Portuguese dishes! Then we’ll sit down to enjoy the fruits of our labor with a delicious dinner and wine!

On our last night in Lisbon we’ll go to a traditional Fado house. We’ll have a huge several course dinner with wine followed by a live show with wonderful local Fado music!

On Oct 4th you’ll depart for home OR better yet, why not extend your trip and stay a few more days to explore and enjoy some fun in the sun! You’re in Portugal, why not stay three more nights and join me on the Southern coast in the gorgeous coastal vacation area of Algarve!

We’ll stay three nights at a beautiful luxury cliff top 5 star hotel with gorgeous ocean views, pools, a spa and more! This is a 3 night post trip add on from October 4 – 7. Included in this post trip extension is a 3 night stay at a 5 star luxury ocean front hotel plus the transfer from Lisbon to our Algarve Hotel. Bring on the sunshine and seafood! There’s also great walking and hiking trails to enjoy! This add on to Algarve is such a wonderful way to end our trip!

This is such a stunning area of Portugal! You won’t want to miss seeing this! Your transfer to the Faro airport on October 7th is also included.
