Cream Cheese Frosting:

ounces
cream cheese
softened

stick or 8 tablespoons
unsalted butter
softened

powdered sugar

teaspoons
vanilla
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together the first 5 ingredients.
Add remaining cake ingredients.
Mix until well combined.
Spoon into two 8 inch greased cake pans.
Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out cleans.
Cool. Meanwhile beat together all frosting ingredients for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
Once cake is cooled, frost.
Notes
For more layers you can cut the 2 rounds of cooled cake in half to make a 4 layer cake.
