Ingredients:
4 pears, cut in half
2 to 3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup toasted pecans, chopped
1/4 cup bleu cheese

Directions:
Use a melon baller or small spoon to scoop out the seeds from the pears. Brush oil liberally onto the flat side of the pears. Season pears with a little cinnamon. Place each pear half on a pre-heated grill, flat side down. Grill for a few minutes. Flip over. Drizzle pears with honey. Sprinkle nuts, cranberries, and a little bleu cheese in the middle of each pear. Grill another minute or two. Serve immediately.

Notes:
These are great a a side with grilled pork or chicken. They also make a great, light dessert.

Prepare a grill to medium hot heat: You should be able to hold you hand 1 inch over the cooking grate for 2 to 3 seconds. Tip: Make sure the cooking grate is clean and well oiled.
Halve the pears and scoop out their cores. You can peel them if you like, but it’s not necessary. I usually cook 1 pear per person, but half a pear can suffice, too.
Put the pears on a tray or baking sheet. Brush them with a light, neutral flavored oil such as canola oil or grapeseed oil.
Put the pears, cut-side down, on the grill. Cover and cook until they’re grill-marked and heated through, about 10 minutes.
Serve grilled pears hot or warm as a side dish or with ice cream for dessert.
