Meatball Sub Casserole

Meatball Sub Casserole

Ingredients
 

  • 22 ounces frozen Italian meatballs - thawed
  • 16 ounces refrigerated biscuits (1 tube)
  • 48 ounces marinara or spaghetti sauce (2 jars)
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Spray a 3 quart casserole dish, a big oven proof skillet or a 9 x 13-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • Separate dough into biscuits. Cut each biscuit into 6 to 8 pieces.
  • Place biscuit dough into the baking dish.
  • Pour 1 jar spaghetti sauce over top of dough. Toss to coat pieces of dough. Place meatballs on top.
  • Pour the other jar of sauce over the meatballs.
  • Bake for about 20 – 25 minutes or until edges start to get golden brown and biscuit pieces are no longer doughy.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheese and bake an additional 5 to 8 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • Sprinkle basil or parsley on top if you like before serving.

  1. Made it for my 2 grandaughters and they loved it ! Went back for seconds. I see the recipe has been revised since I made it. I had used extra meatballs and extra sauce though.

  2. Excellently delicious! Works well as leftovers too. We messed up somewhere as the biscuits were still doughy in places, but we think we know how to fix our mistake for next time.
