1 box (3.4 ounces) cook-and-serve vanilla pudding mix
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
8 to 12 slices Texas toast
3 to 5 tablespoons butter, divided
Powdered sugar
Fresh berries (optional)
Warm maple syrup

Directions:
In a large bowl, whisk the milk, dry pudding mix, eggs and cinnamon together until well blended. Dip bread in pudding mixture, coating both sides. In a large skillet or on a griddle, melt a little butter over medium heat. Cook bread on both sides until golden brown. Before serving sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with a little extra butter, syrup and/or fresh berries on top.

This is delicious. I added vanilla to the batter and it was perfect.

  2. I had a recipe like this but it was baked in the oven. Can I do this, bake in oven?

Hi Bev. Sounds delicious but this recipe you do in a skillet or on a griddle. I’ll have to work on a baked version! Thanks! -Amy

  3. Hi Amy
Would love to try your Vanilla Pudding French Toast, it looks YUMMY!!!!
Do you think I would get the same results if I used the sugar free, fat free pudding mix?
Also where do I find the texas toast bread?
    Thanks
    Katie

    1. Yes Katie. Sugar free pudding mix I think would work, just make sure it’s cook and serve and not the instant. Texas toast should be found in most grocery stores in the bread aisle. It’s just a thicker cut of white soft sandwich bread so if you can find it regular bread works too. Thanks! -Amy
