How/Can I make the dip alone (not bake in bread bowl)? I’d prefer to do it that way, then could I put the dip in a crockpot to keep warm at a party? I plan to serve with a variety of cut up bread pieces.

      Hi Susan,
Sure you can just bake this in a casserole dish. I would bake 20 to 25 minutes covered in foil and then transfer to your slow cooker and cook on low until warm and bubbly. Then turn to warm. Hope you love it! I do! -Amy

  2. Oh that looks so good! I have to try this recipe, I’ve only had clam chowder in a bread bowl, never crab dip. I’m a cheese-o-holic so I might add a few more varieties of cheese to it if I can do so without compromising too much of the crab flavor.

    Thanks!

    1. Hi, Caleb. Let me know which cheeses you try and how it works out. Us cheese-heads have to look out for one another!

  3. could you please tell me on amy’s show she said in a container to have salt & pepper together how much salt was that & pepper. I know it was kosher salt & coarse pepper
    thanks,
    Donna

    1. Hi Donna,

The ratio is 1 cup of coarse kosher salt to 1 tablespoon of coarse black pepper.
Thank you & happy cooking to you,
      Amy
