Butter Wrappers

Save your margarine or butter wrappers to grease your baking pans.

Espresso Boost

When a recipe calls for instant coffee substitute instant espresso powder for an extra boost.

Soften Cream Cheese

To soften cream cheese quickly remove it from the foil wrapper and microwave it for 20 to 30 seconds

Perfect Pasta

Boil pasta and remove just before it is fully cooked. It will continue to cook even after it is removed from the stove and drained.

Hot Chilies

To prevent the burning sensation after chopping hot chilies, wear gloves or dip your hands in cold milk.

Ripening Fruit

To ripen fruits, wrap them in newspaper and put in a warm place for 2-3 days. The ethylene gas they emit will make them ripe.

Warm Your Garlic

Garlic skin comes off easily if the garlic cloves are slightly warmed before peeling.

Sticky Dough

If the dough sticks to the rolling pin, place it in freezer for a few minutes.

Chopping Dry Fruits

To chop dry fruits, place them in the fridge for half an hour before cutting. Take the fruits out and cut them with a hot knife (dip it in hot water before cutting).

Squeeze of Lemon

Squeeze some lemon juice on apple slices to avoid browning. They will look fresh for a longer time.

Happy Egg Peeling

When boiling fresh eggs, add about 2 tablespoons of white vinegar to the water and eggs. When the eggs are cooked, cooled and ready to peel, the shells peel off so much easier. Happy Egg Peeling!

Sticky Pasta

Add a splash or two of canola or vegetable oil to the water prior to adding pasta. It’ll help it not stick together or to the pan.
