Summer Is Sailing Away!

Summer Is Sailing Away!

Can you even believe it’s August? Yikes! I can’t remember a summer that has sailed away like this. It’s been so busy! We haven’t spent near enough time at the cottage. AAnd, get this, my daughter Ireland starts her freshman year of college at Loyola University in Chicago in just a few weeks. I know, crazy!

I just had to figure out a way to carve out some cottage time before summer slips by. So I packed up the car, my bike, and Arlo the dog, and headed up north to Harbor Springs, Michigan. I’ve been here for just a few days and it’s been heavenly! Just what I needed! My camera just can’t snap enough pictures.

Summer is Sailing Away - Coffee
The morning starts with a big cup of Jo from my favorite little coffee place downtown. Is this a gorgeous mug of coffee or what?

Summer is Sailing Away - RegattaThis week the marina in my little town is filled with huge sailboats from all over the country sailing in the annual summer regatta. It’s so gorgeous!

Getting Ready for Regatta

Summer is Sailing Away - Farmers MarketI love hitting the farmers market. There’s one right downtown every Wednesday and Saturday morning. As you can see it’s the place to be!
Busy Farmers Market
Farmers Market FlowersI can never say no to these big beautiful bouquets of flowers! Too pretty to pass up! Beautiful cherries and berries too! The tomatoes are coming soon. Michigan sweet corn too. I can’t wait!
Summer is Sailing Away - BerriesI plan on savoring every second left of summer! I’m getting excited for the regatta this weekend. I love watching the boats sail off in the morning. I promise to take lots of pictures.

You can see what I’m up to on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Hope you are savoring and enjoying the last few weeks of summer too! Where’s your favorite place to spend the summer? Please share!
