Spring Break in AZ!

Spring Break in AZ!

It’s been a long winter in Wisconsin so my daughter Ireland and I decided to plan a girls getaway someone warm for her spring break. Good decision! We left behind the winter coats and boots went to Paradise! Paradise, Valley Arizona that us. Besides cooking, I love to play tennis. I wanted to take my racquet and play out there too! I found the perfect place! We stayed at the most spectacular resort called The Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary Resort

It’s a tucked into gorgeous Camelback Mountain. It’s spread out over 53 acres so it’s peaceful and quiet. It’s just what I was craving! I played tennis every morning. We hiked. We lounged by the pool. We shopped. BTW there’s some seriously great shopping in Scottsdale! After shopping with Ireland (that’s a lot of work) I earned a visit to the Sanctuary’s spa. I thought their signature Lime Blossom Massage was just what the doctor order! A 90 minute massage with avocado oil blended with lime blossoms, grapefruit and tangerines. Oh man, was it heavenly!

But, believe it or not my favorite part of the whole trip besides seeing my family and friends who live there, was hanging out on one of our two balconies. The views of the mountain from our were incredible! And, seeing the stars. The pool all aglow at night. The scent of the desert and the spring blossoms. There’s just nothing like it!

Now, I couldn’t go on vacation without talking about the food! We had some great family dinners in Arizona too. My mom and dad and my sister and her family live there so it was great fun to hang out and catch up with the family!

Family Fun in AZ

One, night Ireland and I decided to chill out at the resort and eat at their lovely restaurant. I had heard great things about Elements. It’s run by celebrity, award winning and Food Network Chef Beau MacMillan. We got all dressed up and asked to sit outside. The food, the view, and of course we had to have dessert. It was all AMAZING! It was just one of those extra special nights that I’ll never forget.

And, then it was time.

After a fun filled week, it was time to pack up and say goodbye. We’re home now but I’m dreaming of going back! Hopefully some day soon! Thanks to everybody who made our trip so special! Have you been to Arizona? What a great place to go to warm up and beat the winter blues? Got any favorite places I need to visit on our next trip? Please share!
