One Happy Camper!

One Happy Camper!

One Happy CamperIt was so weird not having her around the house this week! It just felt kind of empty! Sleeping bag, pillow, sunscreen, new tennis shoes. If you have a camper, you know the drill. Boy, they sure need a lot of stuff! After 2 days of shopping and checking the list twice, we packed up my daughter, Ireland and sent her off to camp this week. She (first in line) and her entire high school dance team boarded a bus headed for a Dance Camp in Minnesota. She is one of the three freshman on the team.

Okay, I admit it, I always get a little nervous when she goes away. Especially for more than a few days. But, get this, Bob was worse than me. Before she left, we made sure she had her cell phone and charger. And, we asked to please check in. Well, you know how that goes sometimes with teenagers! We only got one or two texts from her, and that was at the very beginning of the week. Bob was worried, did her phone break? Was she having a good time? Was she injured? I told him that I’m sure the girls were just really busy with early mornings and late nights. But, I finally broke down and called one of the other freshman moms. “Have you heard anything from your daughter?” Thank goodness for other moms! Yes, my thinking was right! She hadn’t heard much either but, assured me that all was fine and that yes, they had been having some really long, jam packed days.

One Happy Camper with friends

I felt like a little kid! I was so excited when she called me on the bus ride home! We waited up late to welcome her. It was so good to hear that door swing open! Ireland was home! Hooray! And, yes she had a great time! A happy camper! And, I think we’re all really happy to have her back home safe and sound! Funny, how when one family member is away, it just doesn’t feel right! Don’t you agree? Any campers in your house this summer? If so, where’d did they go? Please share?
