The Golden Cow!

The Golden Cow!

Forget a Golden Globe. It’s got nothing on the Golden Cow! Lol! Every month I do recipes on a great talk show called Twin Cities Live. It’s a blast and I just love the hosts Elizabeth Ries, who by the way used to be a news anchor in Green Bay, and Chris Egert. They are like family!

One day Chris was talking about how much he loved beef stroganoff. I mentioned that I love beef stroganoff too!

Beef Stroganoff

I have a killer recipe passed down from my grandmother. He said his recipe came from his grandmother, too. NO WAY! That was it! We just had to have a Stroganoff-Off! The producers loved it! We set a date!

As the date got closer, I admit I was a little nervous! I knew my recipe was a winner but, making it live on TV can be a little bit of a challenge. I only had a few minutes and it had to perfect. Not to mention I wanted it piping hot when I plated it. The noodles had to be cooked to perfection too. So, timing was crucial!

At stake was “The Golden Cow”! I confess, I had never heard of it either. The producers assured me this was HUGE! Way, better than a Golden Globe or an Oscar! Really? Okay, I’m going for it! GAME ON! A serious foodie, Stephanie March, the Food and Dining Editor of St. Paul/Minneapolis Magazine, was the judge.

So, how’d I do? Click here and watch for yourself! Then, make this! It really is delish! The ultimate comfort food! Thanks, to my grandmother, Corinne Golden, for teaching me how to make this great dish! She passed away a few years ago but, I’m pretty sure she was watching me during the big cook-off on Twin Cities Live. I feel her with me in the kitchen when I’m cooking all the time! We cooked up some really great memories together!

Hey, and If you have any great family recipes please share! I’d love to feature them on my website!
