Frozen Tundra!

Frozen Tundra!

We love our football in Wisconsin! No matter what the weather! Living in Green Bay, us Packer fans were pretty darn excited when the team surprised us all and beat the Chicago Bears a couple weeks ago. After a not so great season filled with injuries, including our quarterback, we were headed to the playoffs! It was so exciting! Aaron Rogers was back! And, the game was going to be at home in Green Bay! I had plans to watch the game at home on the couch with the kiddos. They wanted my Ultimate Nachos. Sounded good to me! Besides, it was going to be bitter cold! So, I was all about being warm and cozy on the couch! At the last minute, we were lucky enough to score some tickets. Should we give them away? Or, do you go and brave the cold? I mean were taking serious cold! They were predicting it to be the 2nd coldest game ever, comparing it to the “Ice Bowl” back in 1967.

We were pretty sure it was going to be a great game! Green Bay vs. San Francisco. This has become quite the rivalry! The 49er’s have beaten the Pack the last three times the teams met. Okay, so like the Nike commercial says, Just do it! We’re going! We put everything we owned on. Well, just about! Lots and lots of layers! Two pairs of wool socks and mittens, boots, and our warmest coats. And, of course our Packers hats too! We were ready! Game on! We didn’t tailgate. Too cold for that! We did grab a brat loaded with sauerkraut just before kickoff.

There’s just nothing like taking in a game at Lambeau Field! It’s so special! You just have to experience it! That sea of green and gold walking in the stadium! Too cool! With all our layers and quite a bit of hot chocolate we managed to stay warm. The game was a good one! It was so close you just had to stay to the very end! In the last seconds of the game the 49ers kicked a field goal to beat the Pack 23 to 20. We all walked out of the stadium pretty quiet.

Oh well! You win some and lose some! We still love our Packers! And, football too! We’ll be watching the rest of the playoffs and the Super Bowl! And, of course I’ll be cooking up lots of game day recipes too!
