The Cooking Mom is nearly 300 pages of my favorite recipes, stories and secrets to help bring your family back to the table. Recipes are designed with real moms and busy people in mind. For years people all over Northeast Wisconsin have been asking me, “When’s the cookbook coming out?” I finally did it!
As I mentioned, every recipe has a story to go with it. Like my Dog Gone Good Meatloaf. It was so dog gone good, that I turned my back for a second and the next thing I knew my dog had eaten the WHOLE thing, or my Dad’s Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream. I found his 40 year-old ice cream maker while moving and inside the box was his handwritten recipe. I plugged the old machine in and it still worked! We made the ice cream that night and have been making it ever since.
There is a whole chapter in the book titled “Throw it in the Slow Cooker.” Wonderful recipes perfect for busy people. They can just throw it all in there in the morning and come home to a great dinner at night. There’s also an entire chapter in the booked called “Kicked Up Casseroles” filled with amazing casserole recipes and secrets to making a good casserole. There’s a casserole recipe in the book given to me by a Packers’ wife. The story goes that she made it all the time for players who’s wives had new babies. It was so good that one player was caught in the kitchen eating it cold right from the fridge.
These are just a few of the more than 250 stories and recipes. Thank you for your support over the last decade in my pursuit to become The Cooking Mom. Check out our calendar of events to find out when I will be at a store near you.

Hi Amy,
Use both of your cookbooks all the time. In fact your latest one is at a friends house for the past month and hates to give it up. So I had to go buy both books for her so I can get mine back. Thank you for the greatrecipes!! Also I do get your interesting newsletter every month. Super Mom!
I do have a question for you. Years ago I use to make chicken with coke and ketsup and let it simmer. Not sure of the portions on the coke and ketsup hoping you can help me.
Amy:
My wife has been very busy at work and I’m not much of a cook. My wife got a copy of your cookbook for her B-day. Last night I made the lasagna soup and it was fantastic! It allowed for a hearty home cooked meal but it was easy to do. Our two year old ate two helpings. I can’t wait to try the next receipe. Who knows maybe I’ll become the cooking dad.
Thanks for a great book!!!
is your cookbook at Festival stores in Minnesota??
Hi, Amy!
Just wanted to say I saw you recently on our local TV station here in Madison, WI ~ Channel 3. I was watching your segment shortly before I left for work, and loved the Beer Bread and Chocolate Mint Trifle recipes you had showed! I wrote down your website and as soon as I got home from work, looked it up and printed them out. The more I looked through your website, the more excited I became to see all the “easy-peasy” recipes in there for busy lives like mine. Although my children are grown, with the youngest in his mid-20′s, we still get together often and I always want to make something new and fun, and what’s even just as important, is that they’re Quick! That’s just he ticket for me! I can’t wait to go out and purchase what I think will be the last cookbook I will ever want or need! Thanks for making my crazy, hectic life a little less so!
I’m all about easy-peasy! Glad you like it, Arline! Thanks! I put new recipes on all the time! If you have any, please share! -Amy
I just wanted to tell you I love your cookbook. It is exactly as described, good family food. It has helped bring new life to my dinner meals and every single recipie I have tried has been delicous! Thank you so much for sharing them with us!
Hi Amy,
Saw you on Fox6 Milwaukee preparing Tortellini Soup. It looked so healthy and easy to make that I ran out and got the ingredients. It was delicious. Couldn’t believe I could make something that tasted so good. My husband loved it. Going to get your Cookbook. Looking forward to making some more of your recipes. Thanks.

Thanks Star! -Amy
Amy, my grandson gave me a copy of your cookbook for Christmas. I am enjoying it very much. It is a cookbook I will be using a lot. Thanks for making your recipes available for all us cooking moms.
Thanks Mary! If you have any good recipes please share!
Amy, just a note to let you know how much I enjoy your cookbook. Easy to follow recipes and so very good, too. I have made the beef tenderloin stroganoff twice now and my family loves it. Thanks, Amy.
Thanks Joanne! That’s one of my favorites too!
I am doing some entertaining for the holidays and needed an appetizer recipe. My source…The Cooking Mom! I purchased your cookbook this summer after watching your morning show while on vacation at our “up north” cabin. I have made a dozen things from your cookbook and have LOVED every one of them!! I have recommended your cookbook to my friends and 3 of them have already purchased it. You are a whiz in the kitchen and cook the way all of us moms like to…with ingredients we usually have in the house and things our family love! Thank you!!!
Thanks so much for the kind words, Pat! I’m glad you are enjoying the cookbook and recommending it to your friends. Hope you are enjoying the holiday season so far and are cooking up some memories!

Saturday, I will be at Cook’s of Crocus Hill in Edine with my cookbook at 11:00 – 12:30, then Common Good Books at 2:00pm. The cookbooks are also available through Amazon.com through my website. The book retails for $24.95 with almost 300 recipes using simple ingredients we all have about our kitchens. Simple. Delicious.

My husband and I attended your show in New London last evening and had a great time!
We bought your cookbook and I can’t put it down! I love your show! YOU ROCK!
I absolutely love it! Finally, a cookbook for a “real” cooking mom with kids. You are awesome!
Lisa
Wow! Thank you so much, Lisa. Real cooking moms (and dads) need real life recipes, right?
Amy,
Just a note to you about your book, I LOVE IT! my niece bought it for me and had it autographed when you were in Manitowoc Festival Foods. Best gift I have gotten in a long time. We are snow birds in Florida for 6 months and have tried several recipes for my friends, they loved them also.
Thanks again,
