This pea soup looks and sounds delicious! I will try it!

  2. Made this with leftover Easter ham. Delicious!!! Used recipe as instructed. I appreciate that the ingredients are listed as “cups” of, instead of “3 carrots, 2 potatoes” etc. It makes it much easier to calculate the right quantity. I have also made the Corned Beef recipe which was also delicious!! Thank You for such good food.

  3. Hi Theda. I would say this serves at least 8. It does make a pretty big batch. You could certainly double it if you have a really large slow cooker. It freezes great! Thanks! -Amy

Thank you Amy; I have it in the crock pot right now and it filled it to within an inch of the top. I added one potato diced up, too, a little extra carrots and two stalks of celery and everything else exactly like you recommend! I really enjoy watching you do your recipes on TV, but got up a little late this morning. I will definitely be making those lemon cookies, too. Love your recipes, keep it up!

This sounds so very good. How many does this recipe serve, wondering if I should double it?.

  5. My whole family which includes my husband and 10 and 8 year old boys loved this! I have been looking for a great split pea soup recipe and this was my first try and it was wonderful! It is so yummy and very filling! So easy too!!! It will be a regular in our house and I made no changes, just went exactly by the recipe!

I love, love, love, split pea soup – but have never made it….until now. This soup is awesome. I omitted carrots, because I don’t care for them. Made some crostini to go with my soup. Its so cold outside, the fireplace is going and I am in heaven!

  7. Amy Hanten says:

    Hi Danielle,
The peas cook better on the bottom covered with the other ingredients. Hope you loved it! I sure do! Thanks! -Amy

  8. Followed the recipe exactly and it is in my slow cooker now! Question- why do the instructions say not to stir it? Just curious! Thanks!

  9. Amy by using ham hocks would the soup be greasy from the skin on the hocks?

  10. Thanks Donna! Meant I agree with Robert! Nothing like homemade soup! So glad he’ll be making it now instead of buying it in a can!

  11. Amy,
