Chocolate Hazelnut Brownie Tart
3/4 stick melted unsalted butter
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
4 large eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tbs instant coffee granules
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup flour
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1 cup of hazelnuts (walnuts or pecans also work well)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees and spray an 11 inch fluted loose bottom tart pan. Add 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips to the melted butter stir well and allow to cool slightly. Beat eggs, sugar, coffee granules and vanilla together for about 4 minutes and then stir in the cooled chocolate mix.
Mix dry ingredients together (flour, milk chocolate chips, nuts, salt and baking powder ) and then fold into the wet mix. Pour into prepared tart pan and bake for 25 to 30 mins until center is puffed up. Allow to cool to room temperature and then remove tart pan sides and serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
This tastes like a Cadbury’s chocolate bar with whole hazelnuts and is fudgy on the inside and a little crisp on the top.
