  1. Saw you make these on Fox 6. Made for Christmas party. 9 people were there and we ran out early. Everyone loved them. Am making again for Super bowl party at my son’s church (just the men will be there) and am doubling the recipe. I do add brown sugar to mine. Thanks for all your delicious recipes.

Could you use homemade Italian meatballs?

    1. Amy Hanten says:

      Hi Kathi,
Yes! Homemade meatballs would be wonderful with this sauce! -Amy

    Amy,

I make your meatballs, (my bosses’ recipe) but instead of the wine we add a can of sauerkraut. I know it doesn’t
sound good but it gives a nice sweet sour flavor. I have never found anyone who didn’t like them and I have brought
them to many places. Thanks for all the good recipes. We are enjoying the BLT dip.

Hi Amy, Love your recipes…from your neighbor to the west…Minnesnowtahhh!!!
Is there anything that can replace the wine? Stock? or would that change the integrity of the sauce?
Thanks for your help, looking forward to trying this one

Hi Barb. You are so right! All frozen meatballs are not created equal! I think Farm Rich, which I’ve seen at Walmart, are really good! Let me know what you think! Thanks! -Amy

  6. I would like to know what kind of frozen meatballs do you use? I mean what brand? I bought some and they tasted bad and very mealy.

I have been making these meatballs for years and they are the best ever. I love your show, watch it everyday.
