Mother, Daughter Weekend!

Mother Daughter WeekendIt was one of the most amazing weekends ever! No, I didn’t go on a fancy trip. I stayed home. Bob and Riley were up north snowmobiling so it was just Ireland and me. Girl’s weekend! Yes!

We needed it! Ireland is 12. The middle school years can be a little tough. You know what I mean. She’s not a little girl any more. She’s getting to be pretty independent. From hanging out with her girlfriends, to dance classes and after school activities, she’s a busy little lady. It was so nice to just really soak her in this weekend. We went out for dinner, just the two of us. She picked the place. We talked and laughed and really connected.

We went to the library. We baked cookies. The highlight was going for coffee on Sunday to our favorite little place. I ordered my usual. She ordered an iced hot cocoa with extra whipped cream. The boys were coming back soon so I savored every minute! I’m looking forward to lots more of these times! Yes, she’s getting older, but she’ll always be my little girl! Do you have any special mother daughter moments to share?

We had a girls weekend also. My girls are 22 and 24. We went to Milwaukee. Sorry no cooking. Went to the Food and Froth Fest at the Milwaukee Public Museum. We had a lot of fun. We want to go back next year.
