Wow, time flies by! It seems like it was just yesterday that I was in my first forensics meet. I remember memorizing my speech and shaking like a leaf before my name was called to go. I was a nervous wreck! Now, instead of me being the teenager standing in front of the audience in a speech completion, I am in the audience. Still nervous! But, not for me.
My 13 year-old daughter, Ireland is in forensics this year. Here she is with some of her teammates. She’s the blonde, second from the left. They’ve been practicing together for weeks. Public speaking is never easy, but it does get easier with practice. I think starting kids young with forensics meets is a great idea! One meet down, at least 2 more to go this year. She and her group scored well! I’ll be at the next meet cheering them on again and remembering when I was the one up there. Do you have a student in forensics? They used to call it speech and debate when I did it. You too?

Yes, that’s what I thought. Must be too many miles on the road. LOL
Can’t believe she has grown this much! Lovely-lovely!
Yes, Cathie. You’re right. Too funny and thanks! -Amy
Isn’t she second from the left?
