Ingredients:
1 loaf French bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
4 cups half and half
3 large eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoons butter
3 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Directions:
Combine bread and half and half in a large mixing bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes. Add eggs, sugar, cinnamon, butter and vanilla; stir well. Spoon mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 325°F oven for about an 1 hour or until custard is set and top is golden. Serve warm serve with warm bourbon sauce drizzled on top.
Bourbon Sauce Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
2-3 tablespoons Bourbon
Bourbon Sauce Directions:
Combine butter, sugar, and egg in small saucepan and cook over low heat, whisking constantly, until mixture thickens – do not boil. Remove from heat and stir in bourbon. Serve immediately or refrigerate and reheat before serving.
