Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 (10.75 ounce) cans cream of chicken soup
1 (32 ounce) bag package frozen tater tots
3 to 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 to 8 strips partially cooked bacon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray 9×13 glass baking dish with cooking spray.
Spread hamburger into bottom of pan, covering entire bottom, gently press beef down into the pan. Sprinkle with a little salt and pepper and spoon diced onions over the top. Cover with the soup, straight from the can, carefully spreading with spatula to cover entirely.
Layer tater tots on top. Bake at 375 degrees F for 40 minutes. Sprinkle cheese and place bacon strips over the top and bake another 20 to 30 minutes or until hamburger is done.
Notes:
You can broil the top for a minute or two to brown the bacon a bit if you like. Add any of your favorite extras, mushrooms, onions, peppers, etc.

This recipe rocked! I will absolutely make it again, and again, and again….. I am looking forward to changing up the cheese combo to see how it effects the taste.
