So Long, Summer!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I took this a few weeks ago. I saw those two Adirondack chairs sitting next to each other in front of the lake filled with sailboats and I just had to snap the shot. To me it describes everything I love about Summer. Sunsets, long walks, family cookouts, swimming in the lake, and just sitting outside and reading a good book. What are your favorite memories from this Summer? By, the way the picture was taken on the shores of Little Traverse Bay in Harbor Springs, Michigan. It’s my favorite place to be in the Summer. Where’s yours?

  1. Hi Amy,

I recently stumbled upon your blog and I’m so glad I did! What a nice blog and a lovely family. Your photo is gorgeous. I have not been to Michigan for probably 20 years now. But when I was there, I really liked it. My family and I live in Austin, Texas. Truth be told, we are happy when summer ends as summer here in central Texas means triple digits…as high as 112!…plus, this summer was exceptionally dry. No rain at all! And now we are plagued with wild fires. But with the fall we will get some relief in the way of temperatures…a regular cold front…the 90’s…LOL!!!

Look forward to reading more on your blog.

    All the best,

    Mary

    1. Thanks Mary! I’ve always wanted to go to Austin! Bet you have some great Texas recipes! Please share!

      1. Hi Amy,

Oh you will have to come to Austin one day! It’s lots of fun with the best barbecue in the world. It’s also known as the live music capitol of the world. We live to the west of Austin in what Texans call the Hill Country. It’s very nice and dotted with lots of barbecue joints. I look forward to sharing recipes with you. We’re up in DFW for the weekend but when I get home I’ll send you my recipe for baby back ribs and brisket…they’re Texas favorites. But I just love seeing your recipes…especially the brats. They have a very German Polish style to them. I like that very much. We have a large German community here in the Hill Country that settled the Fredericksburg area. As a matter of fact my husband is part German…and part Chineese!!! But 100% Texan! LOL! (I’m originally from NY. I met my husband a the airpot!)

        All the best,

        Mary
