Shop ’til You Drop

We were in Minneapolis and the kids were begging to go, so we did it! We took on the biggest mall in the country, The Mall of America! I was a little nervous because Bob doesn’t do malls! Me, I was in heaven, Ireland too! This place is unbelievable! If you like to shop, this is love at first sight! Every store you can think of! Some really good deals too! I never wanted to leave Nordstrom off the Rack! To keep Bob and Riley happy we fueled up first. From Caribou Coffee (LOVE that place), to The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, a Nestle Toll House cookie place, The Magic Pan for crepes, gelato, and more! I could go on and on. So many choices! Then it was time to do some serious shopping! We only had one day! Ireland got a new dress and sunglasses, Riley got new running shoes, and Bob got 2 new shirts and a suit. Yes, I got a couple things too. Another pair of black pants. You can never have too many, right? And, a new tennis outfit. Everything was on sale, so I was feeling pretty well behaved! “Okay, enough shopping” (that came from Bob, not me!) Time, to hit the amusement park. That’s right, there’s an amusement park right in the middle of the mall. Now, I’m not a big fan of amusement parks. Hot, long lines, big crowds. Not this one! It was it was clean, air conditioned, and no waiting in long lines to get on the rides! Now, that’s my kind of amusement park. Bob and Ireland, took on the Splat! Straight up, and then a drop straight down! I don’t think so! I did go on both roller coasters and I did something else that my kids can’t believe I did! Just wait and see! Stay tuned for my next blog! By the way, have you been to the Mall of America? What was your favorite store or restaurant? I can’t wait to go back!

  1. Sounds fun, Amy! My boys are Lego fanatics. Is the Legoland there worth the trip?

    1. Hi Karen. My 17 year-old son still loves legos and builds some pretty cool stuff! It’s a very cool place. It’s mainly a giant Lego store with all sorts of building sets for sale but then there’s an area where kids can just sit and build and play with legos. There are also huge lego creations on display. Very cool! Yes, go check it out!

  2. What a brave birthday boy on the Splat!

    1. Yes, Gramee. Your son, Bob rode the Splat but not the roller coasters. He was tired out from all that shopping and needed to take a break and sat on a bench to watch us. 🙂
