A History Lesson in Richmond

History Lesson in RichmondOur summer road trip continues! After a few fun days in Cleveland, we headed east to Richmond. Neat town! Lot’s of history here! My son, Riley is a huge history buff! He wants to teach history one day. Needless to say he was super excited about our visit.

History Lesson in Richmond 2Once we checked into our hotel downtown, it was time to explore. There’s an area by the river where there are lots of museums. We chose the The American Civil War Center. For those who don’t know, Richmond was the capitol of the Confiderate during the Civil War. The museum didn’t disappoint! It’s a must stop if you visit. Museum s just make learning fun!

History Lesson in Richmond 3Next we had a great dinner in the restaurant district. After that we were wiped! A dip in the pool it then it was bed time. I had an early morning TV appearance and then it was time to hit the road. Not near enough time in Richmond! The southern hospitality was lovely. They called me “Miss Amy”. Love that! So, where are we headed next? Any guesses? Check back and see!

    Hi Amy,
I am of fan of your show and watch it all the time. Love your recipes. We have very good friends in Richmond. My husband went to law school of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. We visited Williamsburg this June, if your son loves History, I hope you are going to Williamsburg.
